week 17.5 – Are you living or existing?

Life is for the living     –    Life is for Living!

This week in our Master Key Experience, we are given the task to read 1 obituary each day. With no other guidance many question why are we doing this?  What are we to make of it?

Some people think this is about leaving a legacy – Screw that!

Some say its about how I want to be remembered – Screw that too!

I do not care about leaving a legacy I care about participating in life. Being most-people-existpresent, caring for people, interacting, touching them in meaningful and inspirational ways. To be touched and inspired myself, in other words to live!

Are people remembered and important because they leave a legacy? Or did they leave a legacy because they lived an exemplary life?

“There was a very cautious man
Who never laughed or played
He never risked, he never tried,
He never sang or prayed.
And when one day he passed away,
His insurance was denied,
For since he never really lived,
They claimed he never really died.

(Anonymous poem)”

Some obituaries are a story that share the life and experiences where many were affected by the presence of this person. Others state this person died end of story.

existing2How do I live? I am natures greatest miracle!  Remember the line in ‘Saving Private Ryan’? “Earn this …. earn it” I was given this opportunity I intend to Earn it!

Our Deepest Fear
By Marianne Williamson

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness
That most frightens us.

We ask ourselves
Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.

Your playing small
Does not serve the world.
There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking
So that other people won’t feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine,
As children do.
We were born to make manifest
The glory of God that is within us.

It’s not just in some of us;
It’s in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine,
We unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we’re liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.

Perfect!live-life21

I give myself permission to shine brightly to play large and give others permission to play at a higher level. I am the light of the world, God made me so. I shall shine, I shall participate and be bold. No longer do I live in quiet desperation trying to keep silent and reserved as a spectator to life. I shall LIVE so that my time touches many and inspires them to LIVE and touch many others. It has been said that we are in this life to serve Gods children. Let it be so!

It just keeps getting better!

This was very good, I especially like how your writing is spaced and easy to read.
I’ve learned to shine brighter too instead of shying away.
I don’t give a crap about an obituary, however, I was thinking that next Sunday we would be asked to write our own ?

    1. Thanks Yvette, I don’t know what we will be asked to do later, and I will not guess or fret about it. That is the point of mkmma. Be the observer, what am I seeing where is the feeling comming from? I am not trying to figure it out to “do it right” or “avoid mistakes”. Live and let your life speak for you. Ain’t it grand! You are writing your Obituary with ever action you do or do not take. 🙂

  2. Mark, Great thoughts and shining of your light. When you put one of my favorites Statements by Marianne Williamson. “Our Deepest Fear” then I got to say you earned a pat on the back. This woke me up from a long hard day of work, to letting my Light shine.
I agree with you and mostly that God created us to be Grand and Powerful beings. I admire your focus on being and experiencing life to the absolute fullest. Your belief of not caring about Legacy is well founded. Mainly because it is in the future that doesn’t exist and living there is of little or no value for anybody. If you care what others think, you will always be their slave. I have read many posts and allow me to say thank you for being here with us all, and growing in power that I see here today.
